Men, we are at war!
Paul wrote to the Ephesians that our struggle is not against flesh and blood. But our battle is certainly about flesh and blood – the flesh and blood of our children.Every day our kids are being recruited by the enemy to the dark side: videos, movies, music, magazines – you name it. Every part of popular culture today tells our kids that it’s okay to do whatever you want, there is no right or wrong, and that there are no consequences for your actions.
While we can’t do much about their exposure to these images and messages (except lock our kids in a closet for the next 10 to 15 years), these are certainly not the messages we want them internalizing.
We are on the front lines in this battle
You are a warrior in this battle. You are called by God to train up your son to be a warrior in this battle. Now is the time to begin, or if you’ve already started, to continue, that training.
You are the key
Studies have shown that sons who have strong relationships with their fathers have stronger resistance to temptations.
