Iron Sharpens Iron
That's what the third year of Champion Warriors means.
The third year gives 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys a chance to give back to the boys behind them. By serving meals, cleaning up, running errands, and covering the campout with prayer, these young men learn the value of serving others.
The weekend is built on time spent with dad in service, in discussion of God's plan for Purity in their lives, and designing a "coat of arms" to tell the world what they stand for, and pulling their shifts in "the Forge" to cover the campout with prayer.
This is a challenging weekend with little sleep and almost no free time, but it culminates with a chance for dads to publicly bless their sons - to "knight" them as they move from childhood into adulthood.
The young men take home a book, a t-shirt, a shield with their personal coat-of-arms, the self-confidence built from a weekend of serving others, and the memories of a weekend with their dad.
